Unity released a public test version of Unity AI, an entirely new set of AI-driven tools designed to help developers build games in Unity ecosystems.

The Unity AI system applies to Unity 6 and beyond, and access depends on the level of subscription and the AI credit balance. Unity states that the new system is directly embedded in the Unity Editor and designed to develop workflows for the game.
Unity personal:Users can get access through a free trial of Unity AI subscriptions. A free probationary period may be granted a one-time credit of 1,000 credits for a period of 14 days. Thereafter, a subscription of $10 per month is paid, i.e. 1,000 AI credits per month. Once the credits have been exhausted, they may also be purchased separately.Unity Pro, Enterprise or Industry subscriber:If the user uses a professional, enterprise or industry version, these features and points of the Unity agent are automatically acquired. Just install Assistant packages.
Unity indicated that the AI assistants embedded in its editor were trained to understand project structures, systems and creative workflows, enabling developers to automate repetitive tasks while maintaining creative control. Unity adds that developers can connect to third-party AI tools through the new AI gateway, or through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server auto-editor tasks for Unity. The test version also includes an AI assistant in a project whose functions include planning models, rollback support to remove AI generation changes, and workflow-specific “skills” designed for Unity.

Unity AI also includes a generator capable of generating position material, sound, cube-based accelerometers and 2D or 3D assets directly within the project. In addition, Unity indicated that developers would retain ownership of the creative direction and AI would address more time-consuming production tasks and experimental processes. In its official blog, Unity says, “We’re developing AI to help users build better games more quickly. Unity AI allows users to access our project’s built-in smart assistants, using in-depth context information in the project, and is built specifically for Unity workflows. ” Users can also access and control preferred AI tools directly and safely in the editor via our AI gateway, or operate through our MCP server from your IDE or preferred LLM application.”
